2010-2011 Committees

SUNSHINE COMMITTEE           
Chair: Muriel Tew – murieltew@gmail.com
This year, our Ambassador and Sunshine committees have joined together to help fulfill the mission of BWN. Committee members will assist BWN by making luncheon and event reminder calls to members, greet members and guests upon entering events, relay/distribute information, and other opportunities that are identified to make each BWN experience one to remember.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE           
Chair: Kris Hulet – loves2bake@hotmail.com

Provides support and ideas to engage and recruit new BWN members, help new members in networking and becoming active members of BWN (including our “Women in Business - membership recipients”), assist with identifying ways to educate and motivate current membership for retention efforts.

SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE
Chair: Deanna Westerby - dwesterby@comcast.net

Helps coordinate fundraising events, special events and annual June event.  Committee will also take the lead on BWN’s annual good will efforts to provide community assistance and outreach opportunities.

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE           
Chair: Ernestine Thomas - dethomas2001@comcast.net

Assists with the annual application, nomination and selection process of the annual BWN scholarship recipient. Two (2) scholarships are currently awarded each year. One each to a student recipient at PCC and CSU-P.

BOARD NOMINATING COMMITTEE
Chair: Roseanne Bory - roseanne.bory@colostate-pueblo.edu
           
Assists with the recruitment and election of annual BWN Board Officers.  Committee will meet at least three (3) times per year: April-nominations, May-elections, June-new Board/Elects.

AUDIT COMMITTEE                       
Chair: Jennifer Aguilar - naturalswissbeauties@myarbonne.com

Responsible for conducting a semi-annual audit of BWN financials and non-profit status.  Works closely with the Board Treasurer and Treasurer-Elect.

Committee responsible for identifying updates and amendments needed to the bylaws and presenting recommendations to the Board of Officers.

WOMAN OF THE YEAR COMMITTEE

Committee is made up of past-WOY award recipients and provides leadership in the nomination and selection process for the annual WOY award. WOY award recipients serve as mentors and ambassadors for BWN to continue the great foundation and legacy created through our prestigious award.
